Assistant Professor of Finance at Faculdade de Economia (School of Economics), Department of Management, University of Porto, where I teach several graduate and undergraduate courses in finance. Associate Researcher at CEF.UP. PhD in Management (field: Finance) at the University of Minho (2006); thesis: Contributions to the Optimal Decision to Invest under Uncertainty and Hidden Competition. Master of Science in Management (field: Finance) at the University of Minho (2000). BSc in Financial Management at ISAG. Previously, I worked for several companies (as CFO, Financial Manager and Regional Director), and between 2002 and 2006 I served as Invited Assistant Lecturer at the University of Minho. I’m also a former researcher at NEGE – Management Research Unit (University of Minho).

My main research interest is Real Options Theory (mainly concerning competition and the strategic interactions). Topics of interest are also Public-Private Partnerships, Investment Incentives, Option Pricing, Corporate Finance, and Stochastic Finance.
